Solution of an illposed Cauchy problem for an elliptic system of first order quasilinear equations appearing in a new formulation of a sonic boom problem (2006).  Theory and numerical algorithm is being developed converting the problem to an optimum control problem and using conjugate gradient method to solve it.  The student working on this problem is

started working on this problem in early 2006 and is still collaborating with Hari on the model problem to find out an appropriate method to solve this problem. They have made quite good progress in this direction.
